2010

After years of working in gyms in several capacities, I opened Nampa Fit Studio with one mat and one set of hand weights.  For five years I ran the studio with all of my heart. Hiring only the best instructors and providing an intimate and safe place for people who hate the gym. It was the first of it's kind in our area offering monthly memberships or pay-as-you-go options and nobody was turned away for an inability to pay.

The studio sold in 2015 and continues to thrive under new ownership. To this day it is one of my proudest achievements.

Fun Fact- there have been 3 marriages of couples who have met at my studio!

2011 - 2015

In 2011, my small business, Nampa Fit Studio, partnered with the local hospital to try to move the needle on the health outcomes of our community through the $10,000 Treasure Valley Weight Loss Challenge. The competition last 6 months, January through June, and my Kim at the Gym teams took 1st place for 5 consecutive years. My clients won a total of over $16,000 in prizes and lost a combined 2,300lbs! I was dubbed “Idaho’s Jillian” by various news outlets and several of those clients have gone on to pursue careers in health and fitness to pay it forward!

2014
Personal Trainer and coach of Jill Knapp- formerly weighed over 265 pounds and was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. After months of training, she lost over 100 pounds and went on to run for Mrs. Idaho. Her work as a diabetes educator has taken her all over the country. She was a guest on the Dr. Oz Show, the cover of Women's First Magazine and several other publications including Yahoo.com.

2016
After selling my fitness studio, I moved back to my home town of Silverdale, WA and began working as the Senior Director of Health and Wellness at a 20,000 member YMCA branch. I hit the streets and was able to obtain funding and community support to create the first ever $10,000 Kitsap County Weight Loss Challenge. Of the 457 participants to finish, the average loss was 27 pounds and the fundraiser for YMCA programs netted over $25,000!

2018
Another of my proudest achievements happened in 2018 - Through a rigorous application process I was given the opportunity to present a 5-minute "shark-tank" style pitch to the YMCA Board of Directors and CEO to fund programing that I felt was lacking in our community.  I won $5,000 in grants to create a workout program for young adults with special needs. The program launched just a few months later with amazing community support- serving families with diverse abilities and still continues to thrive! On a personal note, it has introduced me to some of the most amazing people that I can't imagine my life without!

2000-2019
Over the past 20 years my husband Jasen and I have worked together to restore distressed properties and sell them. As seasoned house-flippers we’ve worked on dozens of properties throughout Boise and the Pacific Northwest and we always have fun together – and we only have one rule: whether it's on the job-site or in the gym….the first one there gets to pick the music!

2022
In 2022 our family suffered a tremendous loss when our 24-year-old son passed from a drug overdose.

Since then I have spent time in several local recovery centers teaching trauma-informed yoga and fitness as a way to heal my own heart and hopefully others as well.
